About this course
Our Level 3 Apprenticeship in CCPLD will help develop 濒别补谤苍别谤鈥檚 knowledge, skills and occupational competence within Child Care settings.听
The aim of this Apprenticeship is to assess and develop the 濒别补谤苍别谤鈥檚 knowledge and skills of working with children in settings where the main purpose is care, learning and development.听
This course is suitable for听
This Apprenticeship suitable for learners who operate more autonomously, undertaking curriculum planning, activity planning and some aspects of staff supervision.听

- Nurseries
- Day-care听
- 颁谤猫肠丑别蝉听
- NHS children鈥檚 services听
- Childminders听
Learners will be required to undertake a mixture of mandatory units and optional units (we will work with you to decide what optional units are relevant to your role, and your business).听
Mandatory units include:
- Promoting core practice in children鈥檚 care, play, learning and development听
- Promoting play, learning, growth and developmen
- Promoting nutrition and hydration in early years听
- Responding to childhood illness, infestation/infection, disease and immunisation.
When you agree to undertake an Apprenticeship, you may be required to complete Essential Skills qualifications, depending on your previous qualifications, the Apprenticeship level you are completing and your own particular needs.听听
This qualification will primarily be delivered through 1-to-1 sessions with a member of our delivery team, using a mixture of face-to-face and remote learning sessions.听
Upon enrolment, learners are also allocated an assessor. Throughout the qualification, the assessor will visit the learner either at their workplace or remotely (for example, via Microsoft Teams) on a monthly basis, to support progress, observe and set tasks.听
Learners are supported and encouraged throughout their qualification to reach their full potential in their chosen industry. Successful learners may progress onto the Level 4 Professional Practice in CCPLD Apprenticeship.听

To start an Apprenticeship in Wales, you need to be:听
- aged 16 or over (there is no upper age limit)听
- living in Wales听
- not in full-time education听
- not accessing any other funding from the Welsh Government听

If you鈥檙e looking to undertake an Apprenticeship qualification as a way of upskilling within your current role, you will also need to be:听
- employed听 for a minimum of 16 hours听
- supported by your employer to undertake the qualification听
- committed to undertaking an average of 8-10 hours of study a week plus classroom听
- working in a role that is relevant to the qualification听
- employed for at least 51% of your contracted hours in Wales
